Since 2014. Built for the strange middle ground between atoms, interfaces, operators, and the people waiting in line.

PRODUCT + DESIGN COLLECTIVE • SINCE 2014

Peterbuilt works where the screen is only one part of the machine.
Not quite an agency. Not quite a studio. More like a small room behind the wall where rough concepts, stubborn workflows, field notes, and physical constraints get sorted into things that can survive contact with the real world.

The work has moved through scan-and-go checkout, pocket POS systems, dual-purpose kiosks, retail integrations, cashier tools, shopper reputation loops, hardware-adjacent operations, and the quiet machinery that lets a store keep moving when the line is long and the staff is busy.

It has also spent time with durable goods: materials, fit, supply chains, margins, packaging, customer rituals, and the odd discipline of turning a manufactured object into a living business. Before and around that, there were health systems, service operations, permits, approvals, and other places where paperwork becomes infrastructure.

The pattern is the point: find the pain that people have learned to work around, give it a shape, and build something useful enough that the explanation can get shorter.
